The lovers are losing It is the second single to be extracted from Perfect Simmetry, the latest work keane.
Esta es una de las canciones que más me gustan del disco, after the turn taken by the band in terms of sound. I think this song recovers a little of the spirit of the band as we knew it., with that elegance that characterizes them (or characterized).
I leave you with the video that by the way, it's a bit silly, the truth.
letter The lovers are losing
I dreamed I was drowning
In the river Thames
I dreamed I had nothing at all
Nothing but my own skin
Slipped away from your open hands
Into river
Saw your face looking back at me
I saw my past, and I saw my future
You take the pieces of the dreams that you have
Cos you don’t like the way they seem to be going
You cut them up and spread them out on the floor
You’re full of hope as you begin rearranging
Put it all back together
But any way you look at this
Looks like
The lovers are losing
I dreamed I was watching
The young lovers dance
I reached out to touch your hair
But I was watching from a distance
We cling to love like a skidding car
Clings to a corner
I tried to hold onto what we are
The more I squeeze, the quicker we all are(??)
You take the pieces of the dreams that you have
Cos you don’t like the way they seem to be going
You cut them up and spread them out on the floor
You’re full of hope as you begin rearranging
Put it all back together
But any way you look at this
Looks like
The lovers are losing
I dreamed I had nothing at all (Nothing but my own skin)
I dreamed I had nothing at all (Nothing at all)
You take the pieces of the dreams that you have
Cos you don’t like the way they seem to be going
You cut them up and spread them out on the floor
You’re full of hope as you begin rearranging
Put it all back together
But in the final reckoning
Looks like
The lovers are losing
I think the songs on Keane's latest CD are closer to 80's pop, with the use of typical techno sounds, They even remind me of David Bowie songs., without leaving aside the piano and its melodic sound between U2 and Coldplay. Tom Chaplin's voice continues to be the best instrument in the band, making the most of his great vocal resources. My favorite song is “Pretend that you’re alone”, I know it's the classic pop song, With a piano base, different instruments are added., and I guess it doesn't add much new… but it's my favorite.
