Typing is the third and final launch of the project which collects and updates the entire work of Mecano which began in March 2005. After the successful publication of Works and Greatest Hits (it remains for 15 weeks in the top ten list of best sellers in Spain, with two platinum records), the 21 March put the finishing touches on this issue this campaign Typing. This launch also coincides with the 25th anniversary Mecano for his first single, Today I can not lift, published in 1981.Typing is the photo story of Mecano more ambitious audiovisual work, complete and comprehensive that has been made with a Spanish artist. Its four DVDs presented in a luxury digipack, with more than ten hours of footage. The DVD-1 presents 39 TVE performances, since its first appearance in 1981 with Today I can not lift until the last, conducted in 1992. Mecano is passing by programs like Applause, Toccata, Opened, End of Century… A selection imperative to understand the history of Meccano and Spanish music during the decade of the 80. The DVD-2 retrieves a concert highly sought after by fans, collectors and fans: that conducted by Mecano Segovia 1984 and is a key document to approach the early years of the trio Madrid.The DVD-3 Mecano again offer live, but four years later. These recordings tour 1988 performed at concerts in Madrid and Barcelona, with bullrings and Monumental Sales, filled to the brim. The recording of these two concertos are published for the first time on DVD in Typing. Last, the DVD-4 Mecano collects concert offered in New York Palladium Room, and extracts from the massive presentation at Le Zenith in Paris, over 10.000 people crowding the room and Ana Torroja playing some French songs. They are also virtually unreleased recordings, first released on DVD and as sought by Mecano fans as the only action that with the launch of the album Ana Jose Nacho featured on Mexican television group.
Typing is the visual complement the work of Mecano, gathered in four DVDs with documents never published or very hard to find. It is the summary of a fundamental part of the history of Spanish pop and not only from the commercial point of view because, musically, Mecano invented a new way. Mecano songs fill an important chapter of the Spanish music of all time and are there to stay, what is more valuable than the many millions of albums sold by the trio worldwide Madrid.
Ana Torroja, José María Cano Nacho Cano and six albums succeeded with fundamental: Mecano (1982), Where is the fairyland? (1983), Here comes the sun (1984), Between the sky and the ground (1987), Sunday rest (1988) and Aidalai (1991). Also, Mecano released a live album (In concert, 1985) and a compilation that included new material (Ana Jose Nacho, 1998). Above 100 songs that make a work that is now offered in four DVD with live footage.
Typing is the best of Mecano in pictures, from her first album (Mecano, 1982) with a repertoire amazing for a rookie group and songs like Today I can not lift, I teach the lesson, Lost in my room, Makeup and I snuck into a party. Direct Songs, indisputable, lyrics and melodies with different, I immediately became a mirror that looked a generation.
Then came others who confirmed that inspiration and natural talent as composers José María y Nacho Cano was an inexhaustible mine. 1.The act early ... CBS

From here COMIENZA successful almost without Freno, which began with the publication of his first album (with the famous cover of antique clock) in April 82 and came to the crushing summer hit of "Hawaii-Bombay ', his last commercial single under the CBS contract. At that time, Nacho melodies were the key to success.
Moves and catchy songs ('Makeup’ – 'Look at me, look at me, no me, no me, look at me ... ') that spoke of youth empowerment, Madrid's night ('I snuck into a party') and little desire to go to class ('Do not teach me a lesson'). A protest song that was meant to be but from the privileged position of child well-, under the shelter of mom and dad ... . However, teenagers hummed the time not otherwise (and yes, Here one has to be included). Mecano The problem at that time was precisely that: trying to be rebellious and 'Children Well’ both. If in step mechano CBS discs were happening annually, the quality of new jobs and the duration of the success of their singles were allowed to leave a space of two or even three years between LP. Their sixth LP, Rest dominical was born in May of 1988 with a new single from Jose, 'No way in New York'. Nacho's bid for this album included the singles 'The Lovers', 'A year’ and "The Force of Destiny ', in shooting promotional video which met the woman who would become his girlfriend for seven years, actress, then unknown, Penelope Cruz. Jose, once more, stole the show, reprising his ironic touch 'slave Blues’ but, above all, with 'Could Talk', his song about social hypocrisy to a lesbian relationship (something up rumors about the sexuality of the singer, Ana Torroja) Mecano prompting the number one Spanish at Christmas lists of 88 and little later, French version ('Une femme avec une femme') to number one in France for eight consecutive weeks, Meccano making the first Spanish artist to lead the lists of the neighboring country for more than two consecutive weeks. Mecano songs were translated into French and Italian, achieved tremendous success in these countries in their respective versions, while success in Latin American countries overcome their success came Spanish. The three components had expressed his desire to work alone and rest of Mecano presented a unique opportunity to develop new ideas. The Cano had produced albums for other groups and singers such as La Union Spanish, Magenta, Alex and Christina (Nacho) or Mocedades and Ana Belen (Jose). In fact, Nacho had graded a mini-LP with former leader of the Vigo Toyland (Germán Copini) just after he left the legendary Galician side ('Give me a shot of love'). It was precisely the smallest of the Cano the first to return to the spotlight, with the album A world apart from the god in 1995.

The rest of the new material signed by Nacho, touches on issues not previously addressed by the Group: friendship ('Love Pirates'), the future world (on the issue of same title) and prostitution ('Body and Heart'), the best of his four themes and one of the best of his career both musically and lyrically Mecano: 'Bandits called sluts for living as I, what others charge for wardrobes, jewelry or cruises'.
The contribution of José María is, once more, the brightest and the one that gives Ana the best chances to shine. In Ana / Jose / Nacho, Jose gives his personal view on drugs, a subject already treated by Nacho on two other occasions ('Ship Venus’ , 1983 and 'The pond', 1991). 'This is not a song’ is the sign that their inspiration is at the height of his memorable compositions in úlltimos years earlier stage. With regard to themes, this is perhaps the most current song, in the rejection sexual orientation labels and plays with the ambiguity and surprise ('Once I had made up my mind, the maromo woke up and turned out to be an aunt with hair to Grace Jones') in an innocent tone in the voice that reminds Ana 'No way in New York', success of ten years ago.
Ana / Jose / Nacho this is, in summary, a disk must for any fan of pop music and the group includes the most significant testimony of this kind of music in Spain. A good way to close the century as far as pop music is concerned, Spanish with the heads of a genre, that while it appears to have been anchored in the years 80, health benefits and quality and, in the case of Mecano, reminds us that, fortunately, not everything good is short.
NOTE: From 1998, Mecano the three members have continued their solo careers, officially separated after that year. Jose Cano has released an album 'pop’ of limited success, Nacho other two discs with much less success than the first two and the music of the royal wedding of the Prince of Asturias. Ana has released two studio albums and one live with Miguel Bosé. Its two concert tours (one with Bose in 2000 and another solo 2003) have had some success, like his last album Fragile (2003), also released in France as Ana Torroja. The publication of a new biography of the group (The Force of Destiny, Javier Adrados – Sphere editions) and the launch of a new CD compilation of his complete works and remastered, besides a successful musical based on their songs – all in 2005 – have renewed interest in Meccano and rumors of his possible return are constant, despite the silence about the components of the group.

Como incondicional seguidor MECANO no pierdo de la esperanza de que nos sorprendan algún día con algo nuevo. Durante los Ultimo Meseta nos han venido “bombardeando” reediciones reediciones y con que no aportaban nada nuevo y que, IMHO, had no other meaning than “to cash”.
