An Australian pharmaceutical tests a lubricating gel to protect against AIDS

Viva Gel

The news surprised me and that's why I want to leave here. If true this is a great news. Hopefully soon to write another entry on the topic.

It appears that the company has announced that Starpharma is testing a gel lubricant with two functions: The characteristic of this type of product to lubricate and prevent the spread of AIDS and Herpes.

So far the tests have been carried out in laboratories, animal, and the result has been very favorable. The testing has given a positive result 85% and 100%. A % very high effectiveness.

The main component is an active molecule that involves forming a layer virus thereby protecting healthy cells. The product is called Viva gel and has not yet been tested on human beings.

If you're thinking that is just the condom, 're not on track. Be aware that the purpose of the product is the prevention of these diseases, but we must not forget the risk of other sexually transmitted diseases existing.

One of the things that I can not imagine is the impact, or behavioral change that could result in your application really like contraceptive for women.

  1. I would ask if this gel is effective if the woman is who has hiv….and serious infection from women to men.
    is effective, that percentage?
    when you have to apply?
    as is to be applied?
    is for sale in Spain?
Lodas would be available to people?
As the acquisition would cost monetarily?
    where we provide?
