Aretha also co-produces the album, which is released through her own independent label., Aretha’s Records, with Michael Powell (Anita Baker, Patti LaBelle, Aaliyah), who already worked with the legendary singer on her albums “A Rose is Still a Rose” (1998) and “So Damn Happy” (2003).
Franklin and Powell have composed the new songs with Gordon Chambers and Troy Taylor. The album was recorded in Detroit.
