If a few days ago I was walking around Gijón and I was talking to myself about the path that music is taking, about musicians and how brutally they cross borders thanks to the Internet and its distribution in formats such as mp3. Today I read this and I think Alaska was there too, in Gijón, and I spoke out loud and he heard me.
Musicians are beginning to be aware of the power that it can give them?…This is what Alaska said on television in Mallorca:
“It is the crisis of an industry, It is neither the crisis of musicians nor of music”
“It has nothing to do with creativity. (…), music will continue to exist although there will probably be no CDs or no vinyl or no media. How does that affect the artist?? Well, we will have to distribute our music in a different way. How does it affect record manufacturers?? In which they will probably disappear. I'm not a record manufacturer so it's not my problem.”
“All the current broadcast networks do is spread my music even more, make it reach people it would never reach and I think that in five years from now in Spain we are experiencing a golden moment in terms of concerts”
You see the interview of Alaska about these statements and learn more about them at http://www.fangoria.es/.

Totalmente de acuerdo.
Music disappeared in the 19th century? Disappeared in the 18th century? And in the previous?
Mozart CDs continue to be released? Bach concerts continue to be performed?
Beatles music will be heard in the 22nd century?
In the centuries 17, 18 , 19… Record companies did not exist and the music that was composed at that time has reached us.. How are powerful record labels capable of threatening staff by saying that music will disappear because of the internet??
Yes, the internet is the great distributor, libre, without commercial policies, nor economic…It is the great opportunity for musicians who go from record company to record company with their demos and who close the doors in all of them..
From this point of view, it is precisely the record companies that kill the initiatives of new musical trends., for not being commercial and not having juicy benefits.
The worst of all is that large companies do not realize that times are changing and continue with their policy of wasting money on big promotions., beautiful and luxurious offices, golden salaries for their executives, diets, hotels, restaurants… all paid by the consumer at €21… the CD and that the working musician only receives a 5.. 6… 7…8% per CD sold. You can now start thinking about dedicating yourself to something else.…
